5. If necessary, specify Brightness settings.
Auto—If available for your scanner, select this setting, which
attempts to correct brightness on a page-by-page basis.
Manual—If the original page or picture is dark or tinted, you
can Darken or Lighten the scanned image accordingly.
6. Specify another standard page size or a custom page size.
Standard— The list box contains the default page sizes
supported by your scanner (for example, Letter, A4, A5, and
so on).
Custom—Click this button to display the Custom Page Size
dialog box (Figure 4–19), and create a new custom size that
will be added to the list box.

7. Click OK if you are done specifying Properties. Click
another tab to define other types of properties.
