4.9 Antimicrobial Coating

The housing of the device is optionally available with an antimicrobial
coating. This contains a coating additive of pure metallic silver that
reliably kills microorganisms that come into contact with the surface.
This can inhibit the growth of bacteria, fungi and other microorgan-
isms on the walls in the incubation chamber.
The door of the device always has an antimicrobial coating, even if the
option has not been ordered.
The inside of the housing as well as the door can
discolour slightly due to the silver additive in the var-
nish. This discoloration has no negative effect on the
antimicrobial properties of the coating or the cultured
product.
