This chapter describes how to control access to the switch.

40.1 Access Control

Use this screen to control access to the switch. A console port access control
session and Telnet access control session cannot coexist when multi-login is
disabled. See the CLI Reference Guide for more information on disabling multi-
login. To open this screen, click Management > Access Control.

40.2 SNMP Overview

Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) is an application layer protocol
used to manage and monitor TCP/IP-based devices. SNMP is used to exchange
management information between the network management system (NMS) and a
network element (NE). A manager station can manage and monitor the switch
through the network via SNMP version one (SNMPv1) and/or SNMP version 2c.
