Tires and Wheels
Maintaining the tires and wheels in good condition is essential to safe operation and good
performance. Tire and/or wheel failure could result in a machine tip-over. Component damage may
also result if problems are not discovered and repaired in a timely fashion.
• Check the tire surface and sidewalls for cuts, cracks, punctures and unusual wear.
• Check each wheel for damage, bends and cracks.
• Remove the wheel covers and check each center lock nut for proper torque and presence of
cotter pin.
Emergency Stop
A properly functioning Emergency Stop system is essential for safe machine operation. An improperly
operating red Emergency Stop button will fail to shut off power and stop all machine functions,
resulting in a hazardous situation.
As a safety feature, selecting and operating from the ground controls will override all platform controls
except the platform red Emergency Stop button.
1. Turn the key switch to ground control and pull the red Emergency Stop button out to the On
position (pulled out) at both the ground and platform controls.
2. Push in the red Emergency Stop button at the ground controls to the Off position (pushed in).
• Result: No machine functions should operate.
3. Turn the key switch to platform control and pull the red Emergency Stop button out to the On
position (pulled out) at both the ground and platform controls.
4. Push in the red Emergency Stop button at the platform controls to the Off position (pushed in).
• Result: No machine functions should operate.
Note: The red Emergency Stop button at the ground controls will stop all machine operation, even if
the key switch is switched to platform control.
Key Switch
Proper key switch action and response is essential to safe machine operation. The machine can be
operated from the ground or platform controls and the activation of one or the other is accomplished
with the key switch. Failure of the key switch to activate the appropriate control panel could cause a
hazardous operating situation.
Perform this procedure from the ground using the platform controls. Do not stand in the platform.
1. Pull the red Emergency Stop button out to the On position (pulled out) at both the ground and
platform controls.
2. Turn the key switch to platform control.
3. Check the platform up/down function from the ground controls.
• Result: The machine functions should not operate.
4. Turn the key switch to ground control.
