Disconnect all the fan cables from the system board; then, remove the fan cage from the node

If the PCIe riser assembly is installed, remove it from the node and disconnect the PCIe cables
from the system board (see

Remove the power bus bar (see

Depending on the specific configuration, remove one or both side brackets from the node (see
"Remove a side bracket" on page
• If no cable duct is installed, remove the left (the side with the ruler label) side bracket.
• If cable ducts are installed, remove both side brackets from the node; then, remove both
cable ducts.
Step 2.
Disconnect all the cables from the system board. When disconnecting the cables, make a list of
each cable and record the connectors the cables are connected to, and use the record as a cabling
checklist after installing the new system board.
Step 3.
Remove all the installed cable ducts.
a.
Disengage the clips of the cable ducts from the node.
b.
Lift the cable ducts out of the node.
