INSPECTION FOR AIR IN SYSTEM
Firmly apply the brake l e ver or pedal, and check that no air
has entered the system. I f the lever or pedal feels soft or
spongy when operated, bleed air from the system (page 14-
4).
Inspect the brake hose and fittings for deterioration, cracks
and signs or leakage. Tighten any loose fittings.
Replace hoses and fittings as required.
BRAKE PEDAL HEIGHT
Adjust the brake pedal to the desired height.
Loosen the l o ck nut and turn the push rod to obtain the pedal
height.
Tighten the l o ck nut after adjustment has been made.
If adjusting the brake pedal to the lower position, make sure
that the clearance between the lower end of the push rod and
the brake pedal does not fall below 1.5 mm (0.06 in).
If adjusting to the higher position, do not allow the lower end
of the push rod thread to enter into the brake pedal joint.
NOTE:
After adjusting the brake pedal free play, check the rear brake
light switch operation and adjust if necessary.
