13.3 Star-knob for tilt setting (Fig. 9 - 10)
After loosening the star-knob (25) at the rear of the saw, the sawhead can be steplessly tilted from 0° through 45° from vertical.
13.4 Turntable (Fig. 11 - 12)
To set the cutting angle for mitre cuts. In both directions an angle of more than 45° is possible.
To adjust the turntable (26):
1. Loosen turntable lock knob (28) by turning it anticlockwise;
2. Push down catch (27);
3. Set desired angle;
4. Release catch (27) and tighten knob (28).
13.5 Fence (Fig. 13)
The fence (29) and workpiece clamp (30) prevent the workpiece from moving during cutting.
Danger of injury!
The fence (29) must always be properly set when cutting. Otherwise the workpiece can be caught by the rotating
saw blade and hurled away.
Caution!
The swivelling auxiliary fence (30) must be set to match the cutting angle of the saw: For bevel cuts, the swivelling
auxiliary fence must be swung to the left (bevelled side facing the saw blade). Otherwise the swivelling auxiliary
fence can get caught by the saw blade when cutting.
13.6 Workpiece clamp (Fig. 14 - 15)
Depending on the operating conditions, the workpiece clamp (31) can be positioned to clamp the workpiece from the top or
the side.
Caution!
The workpiece clamp (31) must be positioned so as not to put the workpiece under pressure (or else the workpiece
can spring back during cutting or get caught in the saw blade).
14. ASSEMBLING EXTENSION ARMS AND CLAMPS (Fig. 16 - 17 - 18)
1. Place the saw in the 0° degree mitre position.
2. Lock the mitre saw in the lowered position.
NOTE: The extension arms (15) with attached stop blocks (33) can be mounted on the left or right side of saw to suit your
operation.
3. Tilt the saw back on its rear legs to expose the underside of the base.
4. Slide the adjustable stop block (33) over the back rail of the side extension arm.
5. Slide the extension arm (15) through the first pair of 13 mm diameter holes on the outside of the mitre saw base.
6. Find the second pair of holes on the underside of the mitre saw base. Put a U-bracket over the hole nearest to the front
edge of the mitre saw.
7. Slide the extension arm through both the second pair of holes and U-bracket. Make sure the extension arm passes
completely through the second pair of holes.
8. Tighten the U-bracket screw with a screwdriver to secure the extension arm.
9. Repeat steps 1-8 for the other side of the mitre saw omitting step 4 - installation of stop blocks.
10. Set the saw back down.
11. Find the two 9,5 mm diameter front mounting holes.
Find the two 16 mm holes for mounting the clamp assembly.
12. Put the clamp assembly 16 mm diameter rod in the hole on the same side of the blade as the stop block. Make sure the
clamp guide is on the outside of the saw base.
13. Put the stop fence plate on the stop block and tighten wing the screw to set it in place.
