CLAMP INSTALLATION (Fig. 19 - 20)
The workpiece clamp consists of a support arm (35) and the clamping mechanism (depending on operating conditions the
clamp can be positioned for clamping from the top (37) or from the side (38))
Caution!
The clamping mechanisms (37) and (38) must be positioned so as not to put the workpiece under pressure (or else
the workpiece can spring back during cutting or get caught in the saw blade).
1. To clamp a workpiece from the top, first fit the clamp to the support arm (35). The lug of the support arm must engage in
the corresponding bore hole on the clamp - then tighten the support arm's thumb screw.
2. Place the workpiece clamp in one of the holes provided in the saw base.
3. Once the clamp is in position (37), secure the support arm (35) with the star-knob (36) on the saw base.

INSTALLING THE DUST BAG
Danger!
The dust of certain woods (e.g. oak, and beech) can cause cancer when inhaled:
- Work only with dust bag properly installed or a dust extraction system connected (air speed at the saw's extraction
outlet must be ≥ 20 m/s).
- It is also recommended to wear a dust mask, as not all sawdust is collected or extracted.
- Empty the dust bag regularly. Wear a dust mask when emptying the bag.
• Put the dust bag onto the dust spout of the mitre saw (ensure the dust bag's zipper is done up).
• Otherwise connect a dust collector or industrial vacuum cleaner with a suitable adapter to the saw's dust outlet.

ANCHORING THE SAW
Risk of personal injury from a rocking or tilting saw!
For safe operation, the saw must be secured to a sturdy base.
A permanently mounted work plate or a work bench can serve as a base.
For mobile use, the saw can also be screwed to a plywood or wood-core plywood sheet (800 mm X 800 mm, at least 19 mm
thick). When in use this plywood sheet must then be secured to a work bench with G-clamps .

STANDARD CROSS CUTS (Fig. 21)
Starting position:
- Sawhead fully lifted (if necessary, pull out handle locking pin);
- Turntable locked in 0° position;
- Saw blade in vertical position in relation to the saw table.
1. Hold the workpiece against the fence.
2. Press and hold the (40) ON/OFF switch.
3. Push the sawhead release button and lower the sawhead, holding it against the saw handle (39)
For sawing, exert gentle downward pressure so as to avoid any excessive drop in motor power.
4. Cut the workpiece in a single pass.
5. Release the ON/OFF switch and return the sawhead to its upper rest position.
