Danger!
Right after cutting, the saw blade may be very hot and could cause burns! Let a hot saw blade cool down. Do not
clean the saw blade with flammable products.
There is still a risk of injury, even when the blade is at a stand-still.
Wear gloves when changing blades.
On re-assembly, observe the direction of rotation of the inner blade collar, saw blade and outer blade collar!
1. Loosen the two screws (45) of the blade guard and swing the cover plate (56) to the rear.
2. To lock the saw blade in position, depress the lock knob (47) and turn the saw blade with the other hand until the lock
engages.
3. Loosen the arbor bolt (49) of the saw blade shaft (left-hand thread!).
4. Actuate the sawhead lock (46) and swing the retractable blade guard (49) fully up.
5. Remove the following from the saw blade shaft:
-
the arbor bolt (50),
-
the washer (51),
-
the outer blade collar (52),
-
the saw blade (53) and
-
the inner blade collar (54).
6. Clean the clamping surfaces of:
-
the saw blade shaft (55),
-
the outer blade collar,
-
the inner blade collar.
Danger!
Do not use abrasive products (e.g. to remove resin residue) that could corrode the light metal components of the
saw; the stability of the saw would be adversely affected.
7. Fit the inner blade collar, observing the direction of rotation: the chamfered side must point towards the motor!
8. Fit the new saw blade, observing the direction of rotation: if viewed from the left-hand (open) side, the arrow on the saw
blade must point in a clockwise direction!
Danger!
Use only suitable saw blades (see "Technical Specifications"). The use of inappropriate or damaged blades could be
dangerous – the blade could come off due to centrifugal force.
Never use:
-
saw blades made of high speed steel (HSS);
-
saw blades with visible damage.
Danger!
- Fit the saw blade only using genuine parts.
- Never use loose-fitting collars; the saw blade could work loose.
- Saw blades have to be fitted so that they do not wobble and become unbalanced and so that they cannot work
loose during operation.
9. Swing the retractable blade guard fully up.
10. Slide on the outer blade collar, observing the direction of rotation: the chamfered side must face away from the saw blade!
11. Put the washer on.
12. Screw in the arbor bolt (left-hand thread!) and tighten finger-tight only.
To lock the saw blade in position, depress the lock knob and turn the saw blade with the other hand until the lock engages.
Danger!
- Do not overtighten the arbor bolt with the tightening spanner.
- Do not tighten the arbor bolt by hitting the spanner.
13. After tightening the arbor bolt, release the lock knob and turn the blade by hand to check that it spins freely.
14. Put the cover back in place over the arbor bolt and tighten both screws.
15. Check functioning. To do so, swing the sawhead lock down and lower the sawhead:
-
The retractable blade guard must release the saw blade when the sawhead is swung down, without touching any
other parts.
-
When lifting the sawhead up to its rest position, the retractable blade guard must automatically cover the saw blade.
