8.1 Local operation
To gain access, enter parameter view with security enabled ("Enable user PIN") and select one
of the access levels:
• Read only
Allows no configuration. The parameter values can be viewed only (indicated by a symbol).
No PIN code required.
• User
Allows configuration and service of all parameters except calibration parameters. Default PIN
code is 2457.
• Expert
Allows configuration and service of all parameters. This access level is only available for the
manufacture.
PIN codes can be changed in menu "Security" (5).
Note
Lost PIN code
• If User PIN is lost, it can be reset with expert access level.
• If Expert PIN is lost, see Recovery ID (5.3) (Page 132) under menu "Security" to reset the PIN
with the help of Siemens customer support.
Disable access level control
If logged in as Expert, the user PIN can be disabled (parameter "Disable user PIN"). The user is not
prompted to enter the password (PIN). Enabling the access level control can be done in
parameter "Enable user PIN" and requires entering the Expert password.
Auto logout function
Enables the automatic logout when returning to the measurement view. Logout is 10 minutes
after the last keypress regardless if auto logout function is enabled or disabled.
NOTICE
Device restart
Whenever the device is restarted (with PIN enabled), the access level is reset to "Read only".

• Operation view
• Parameter view
• Edit view
• Read only view
