4.2.2 Making a new hole
Choose a central area on the roof, between two
cross members, and mark out a 395 x 395 mm
square using a felt pen
1).
EN
The dimensions of the 395 x 395 mm
square on the cardboard template
3") are provided for guidance only. Before
cutting the roof, check the actual size of
the hole with a tape measure.
Cut the opening in the roof carefully using a hack-
saw; make sure no electrical wires are severed
("Fig. 5"
ref. 2).

Translation of the original instructions
Fix a reinforcement frame (not supplied with the
air conditioner) along the perimeter of the opening
("Fig.

ref.
Insert a sealant product between the adapter and
the roof; this product must ensure a watertight
seal and perfect bonding of the two parts.
4.2.3 Power cable
A 3-core cable with a 2.5 mm² cross-section (live-
neutral-earth) must be routed for the power sup-
ply of the air conditioner. The wires at one end
must be connected to the thermal magnetic circuit
breaker (recommended load 10A) previously in-
stalled in the vehicle's electrical distribution panel
exclusively for use by the air conditioner. The oth-
er end should reach the opening made in the roof
of the vehicle and protrude from the hole made in
the reinforcing frame by approximately 50 cm - in
order to facilitate connection to the air conditioner
("Fig.
7").
The electrical cable must be suitably protected in
order to ensure its integrity and insulation in all
conditions of use of the vehicle.
