d. The crane can not drag heavy objects in
an inclined direction.
e. When lifting the lifting weight, no
personnel pass through above.
f. When lifting objects close to the rated
load every time, one should slowly operate, and
lift the object off the ground at a smaller height
to test the brake performance.
g. When the crane is slewing, luffing and
running, a sudden start and stop should be
avoided. The lifting speed should be controlled
to make the object swinging radius in the
prescribed range in rated crane weight figure.
When the swing of the object is dangerous, the
contour line should be marked or limited.
4-6 Disaster Treatment
Emergency Measures
4-6-1 Natural disaste
If improper measures are taken and incorrect
methods are adopted during the natural disasters, the
accidents may also occur under the non-operational state
of the natural disaster crane. Such as thunderstorms, wild
winds, earthquakes, etc. will be harmful to the cranes.
The thunderstorms will result in surface collapse of the
cranes, foundation subsidence, lightning strike on the
arm extensions and the like. The wild winds will give a
strong irregular pressure on the arm extensions to cause
shake, warp and collapse finally for the arm frames; the
earthquakes will result in surface collapse, arm frame
shake, even worse, crane collapse will occur.
Natural disaster occurrence is uncertain.
When the natural disaster happens during the
construction, we must handle it calmly:
a. Firstly, put the weight on the ground and
retract wholly the arm frames to place on the
holder of the crane arms;

b. Close the brake device and the engine and
cut off all power sources;
c. The operators should immediately evacuate
to the safety.
and-----
When the cranes are located in the wild and
in the higher position compared to the surrounding
ground, avoidance from the lightning strike damage
to their high-position components (such as the
supporting cables of the arm frames, etc.), the rolling
bearings and wheels connected between large-size
components (such as rotary supporting bearings,
wheel bearings, etc.) and the workers should be
taken into account.
