This section provides general guide-
lines and may not suit all applications.
1 Work Clamp
2 Electrode Holder
Be sure to use the correct size weld ca-
bles (see Section 5-11).
Typical
Settings
For
7018
Electrode:
Connect Work cable to Negative terminal
and Electrode holder cable to Positive termi-
nal on welding generator.
Polarity Reversing Models: Work cable con-
nects to work terminal. Electrode connects to
electrode terminal.
� Select SMAW XX18 weld process
� Use Autoset to select electrode type
(XX18), size (1/8 IN), and material thick-
ness (1/8 IN – 1/2 IN).
� Adjust amperage within auto-set range
as needed.
Recommended Process Stick Electrodes:
XX10 Process: 6010, 7010, 8010, 6011, or
any
other
cellulose
electrodes
mentioned.
XX18 Process: 6013, 7018, 7024, all stain-
less steel electrodes, and any other low hy-
drogen electrodes not mentioned.
Miller recommends Hobart filler metals.
