Energy storage connections to DCT enclosure
The DC cables coming from the energy storage are connected to the MV UPS on the top or bottom
(model dependent – please refer to the product type code) of the DCT enclosure.
There is a removable cable gland plate to accommodate the cables and avoid the ingress of extraneous
objects.

ENABLE/INHIBIT Switch
The ENABLE/INHIBIT switch is a key operated maintained operators type switch installed next to the
GDM. When the ENABLE switch circuit is de-asserted, i.e., circuit is opened, it inhibits start-up of the
HiPerGuard MV UPS. If the UPS is already started and running in either PCM or IM when the ENABLE
switch circuit is opened, the UPS shall transfer the load to the grid by closure of bypass and opening of
input and output switches, and simultaneously stopping the power converters. Transfer to grid may
depend on availability of grid supply and may result in load interruption. Figure 6.3 shows the
ENABLE/INHIBIT switch in the HiPerGuard MV UPS.
