Terminology
The convention for the sign of P is that positive references inject power to the electrical system and
discharge the battery; thus, negative references absorb power from the electrical system and charge
the battery.

3.2.7.3.
Power Exchanger operation modes
The Power Exchanger function can operate in different modes, based on the commands coming from an
external Controller, DRC. Please note that the MV UPS provides the control interface, but all the logic
operations and power setpoints are provided by the DRC. The DRC is not part of the HiPerGuard's scope
of supply and shall obtained from ABB or a third party supplier.
3.2.7.3.1.
Power Exchanger function disabled
If the Power Exchanger function is deactivated, the grid will support the entire load power.
The HiPerGuard MV UPS will manage the battery and charge it to 100% SOC.
