Meaning
Automatic Bypass Switch. Represents the designation of the bypass circuit
breaker that bypasses the MV UPS system and connects the grid directly to
the load. This breaker is automatically controlled by the MV UPS.
Input Switch. Represents the designation of the input circuit breaker
connecting the MV UPS to the grid.
Maintenance Bypass Switch. Represents the designation of the external
maintenance bypass circuit breaker that bypasses the MV UPS system and
its automatic bypass switchgear and connects the grid directly to the load.
This breaker is not controlled by the MV UPS.
System Controller. Universal controller located in the PE120-1 enclosure.
State of Charge. SOC refers to the state of charge of the energy storage
connected to the MV UPS.
Output Switch. Represents the designation of the output circuit breaker
connecting the MV UPS to the load.
A state where the MV UPS ramps its output voltage from zero to
input/output voltage magnitude, synchronizes to frequency and phase,
closes the output and input circuit breakers and opens the automatic
bypass circuit breaker.
A state where the MV UPS synchronizes the input to the output voltage,
closes the automatic bypass circuit breaker and opens the input/output
circuit breakers.
Universal Controller
Uninterruptible Power Supply System. Refers to the HiPerGuard MV UPS unit
(or multiple units) in addition to the medium voltage switchgear and the
energy storage.
Uninterruptible Power Supply Unit. Refers to a single HiPerGuard MV UPS
machine.
Impedance Isolated Static Converter. ZISC refers to the architecture of the
HiPerGuard MV UPS where the static power converters of the MV UPS are
isolated from the grid via an impedance.
