8.6. Starting the PCS6000 converter

The PCS6000 can only be taken into operation after it has been properly installed and
commissioned.

8.6.1. Checks before starting

IMPORTANT! Before commissioning and first start-up proceed according to chapter 7,
Commissioning, page 89.
If the PCS6000 has been de-energized for maintenance or repair work, proceed as follows.
Pre-start checks
1. Check that no tools, grounding equipment and other objects are left in any of the units.
2. Check that the grid is energized.
3. The "Anti-dew startup sequence" release for converter start.
See section 8.5, Anti-dew startup sequence, page 99.
4. Check that the auxiliary power supply of the PCS6000 is switched on.
See "Wiring Diagrams units in Appendix A03 - Electrical drawings" for project-specific
details.
5. Check that the water cooling system is ready for operation.
6. Check that all unit doors are properly closed.
All units containing live MV equipment are equipped with door switches and solenoid
coils.
If a door is not closed, the converter start will be prevented.
Check that the PCS6000 is ready, ie, no fault message is pending.
7. Check that the Key Switch is in "ON" position.
