Gigabit Ethernet (iSCSI) Interface
The interface in the Generation 3 Gigabit Ethernet QIP (G3 E-QIP) used to
connect the library to an Gigabit Ethernet network supports the TCP
Offload Engine (TOE) protocol.
The Gigabit Ethernet QIP (E-QIP) provides a GigE-to-SCSI interface
between the host and the library's SCSI tape drives or RXT drives. Each of
the two GigE ports on an E-QIP provides access to all or any of the four
tape drives associated with the E-QIP.

SCSI Interface

Direct-attach SCSI tape drives require a bus expansion module to provide
SCSI bus connectivity. Robot control commands from the host are routed to
the transporter through LUN 1 for one of the tape drives in the partition.
The tape drive reports the transporter as "SPECTRA PYTHON" on LUN 1.
LUN 0 is the tape drive itself.
The four connectors on a bus expansion module provide SCSI bus
connections to the four SCSI tape drives associated with the module. Each
direct attach drive has a single SCSI connector. One wide Ultra320 SCSI
Active SCSI terminator is provided with each SCSI tape drive.
Ethernet Cable Requirements (for RLC)
Library access The Ethernet port on the LCM allows connection to a 10/
100Base T Ethernet network for accessing the library using a standard web
browser on a remote computer. A second Ethernet port provides a network
connection for accessing the BlueScale Vision camera.
The Ethernet port connector is a pin-through-hole RJ-45 shielded
connector. To connect to the Ethernet port, use the shielded Category 5
(10/100BaseT connection) data-grade cable or a similar Category 5 cable.
BlueScale Vision camera access In order to comply with EMC
requirements, use of a shielded Ethernet cable is required for access to the
camera. The camera is accessed via a separate Ethernet cable.
