user interface.
Note:
Most of the figures in this guide show the Spectra T380 library.
The relative locations of the components are the same for the
T200, T380, and T680 libraries.
Advanced BlueScale Environment. The BlueScale Environment
provides control over every aspect of the library's operation.
User Interface. The library user interface lets you set configuration
options, view library and drive information and metrics, manage
cartridges, and monitor library operations. You can access the user
interface using the library's front panel touch screen, a direct
connection to the library controller module (LCM), or through a
standard web browser connected to the remote library controller
(RLC).
User Security. Library users are configured for the library in one of
three groups, each representing a level of privileges.
BlueScale Media Lifecycle Management. BlueScale Media
Lifecycle Management (MLM) helps you manage your tape media
by giving you tools to proactively detect potential media errors well
before they happen. When used in combination with Spectra Logic
Certified Media, MLM lets you manage, track, and report all facets
of tape usage from creation to retirement — all consolidated within
the same application you use to manage your library.
BlueScale EnergyAudit™ Reports. BlueScale EnergyAudit lets you
display and record actual power consumption, giving you greater
control of your data center and budget.
BlueScale Hardware Health Monitoring. BlueScale Hardware
Health Monitoring (HHM) tracks maintenance thresholds for key
library components and notifies you when maintenance tasks are
required to keep your library in optimum operating condition.
These automated notices can be sent to SpectraGuard Technical
Support so you can work with them to proactively schedule
maintenance service at a convenient time.
Auto-Save Configuration File. Auto-Save Configuration
automatically generates an auto-save file containing a backup of the
library configuration and MLM database and stores it on the LCM
compact flash once a week and whenever a partition is created or
modified. If desired, the library can automatically email the auto-
save file each time it is created. This external copy of the auto-save
file ensures that you can recover your MLM database and library
configuration in the event of a disaster.
