Note:
Measurement is to be carried out in accordance with the
manufacturer's instructions on the measuring instrument. Take care
with the dimensional units of the measuring instrument. There are
still measuring scales in kg (effectively kilopond/newton)! Conversion
factors: 1 kp = 9.80665 N, 1 N = 0.102 kp. A mass of 1 kg exerts a
weight force of almost 1 kp on the earth.
The measurement is taken in the middle of the free-hanging belt span.
After installing and tensioning a new drive belt, allow it to operate and
turn at least 3 times (approximately 15 minutes) before taking the
measurement.
