Journeyman Ductable Dual Fuel Indirect-Fired Heater
Gas Pressure Checks
WARNING
■ Do not disassemble the regulator, or the solenoid
valve.
■ Do not attempt to replace any internal components of
the regulator or solenoid.
■ These components must be replaced if any physical
damage occurs to the gas terrain assembly.
■ Failure to follow this warning will result in fire or
explosions, leading to injury or death to humans, and
property damage.
ATTENTION:
■ The following explains a typical procedure to be
followed in checking gas pressures.
■ The gas pressures will vary depending upon fuel type.
■ Consult the data plate on the heater or page 5 in this
manual for specific pressures to be used in conjunction
with this procedure.
■ Gas pressure measured at the inlet to the regulator is
Inlet Pressure and gas pressure measured at the neck
of the combustion head is Burner Manifold Pressure.
MATERIALS REQUIRED
Quantity
Description
2
Gas pressure gauges capable of reading up
to 35 in. w.c./8.7 kPa. (may be ordered from
L.B. White, part #550-00764)
2
1/8 in. MNPT hose barb
A. Preparation
■ Brush or blow off any dust or dirt in the vicinity of the
combustion head and regulator.
■ Close the fuel supply valves and disconnect the heater
electrical supply.
B. Gauge Installation
Inlet Pressure Reading
1. Shut off your main gas supply to the heater.
2. Install a pressure gauge between the supply gas line
and the heater's regulator.

3. Tighten all connection properly.
Manifold Pressure Reading
1. Locate the brass pressure tap on the burner tube.
PRESSURE TAP
2. Loosen the slotted screw inside the brass barb. DO
NOT remove the screw from inside the pressure barb.
3. Securely connect a pressure gauge to the barb.
4. Open the fuel supply valves and reconnect the heater
electrical supply.
5. Start the heater.
C. Reading Pressures
1. With the heater operating, the inlet pressure and the
manifold pressure should read the pressure specified
on the data plate.
2. If so, then no further checking or adjustment is required.
Proceed to section D.
3. If neither pressure agree with that specified on the data
plate, then the 2nd stage regulator controlling the
supply gas pressure to the heater's regulator require
adjustment. DO NOT adjust the heater's regulator.
Maximum inlet pressure to this regulator is 1/2 PSI
(3.45 kPa).
D. Completion
1. Once the proper inlet and burner manifold pressures
have been confirmed and/or properly set, close the fuel
supply valve to the heater and allow the theater to burn
off any gas remaining in the gas supply.
2. Disconnect the heater from is electrical supply and
close fuel supply valve.
3. Remove the gauges.
4. Close the pressure tap screw by turning CW.
5. Open fuel supply valve and reconnect electrical supply
to heater. Start the heater and check for gas leaks.
6. Set thermostat to desired temperature.
