CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
8.1
CLEANING
8.1.1 CLEANING PERSONNEL
Cleaning work should be undertaken regularly and carefully by qualified and trained
personnel. They should be informed of specific hazards during their training.
The following hazards may arise during cleaning work:
– health hazard from inhaling powder lacquer,
– use of unsuitable cleaning tools and aids.
8.1.2 CLEANING PROCEDURES
Switch off the system and secure against unauthorized reactivation.
The cleaning intervals should be adapted by the operator depending on the level of use
and if necessary the level of soiling.
If in doubt, we recommend contacting WAGNER's specialist personnel.
8.1.3 CLEANING IN CASE OF PAINT CHANGE
In the case of a paint change, all powder feeding parts must be thoroughly cleaned.
An automatic cleaning procedure can be started via the pump controller. The cleaning
sequence generally begins with emptying and then changes to a blow-out cycle.
The cleaning time can be set with the DIP switches (see Chapter 7.5.1). In the case of
powders that tend to sinter heavily or in the case of metallic powders, repeat the cleaning
procedure if necessary. Use of the external cleaning box (accessory order no. 241570) is
recommended.
8.1.4 INTERNAL CLEANING PROCEDURE
This cleaning mode exclusively uses the air connected to the pump. The feed hose and
the suction hose are blown out alternately.
Work steps:
1. End the coating procedure.
2. Switch DIP switch function 5 to "On" (internal cleaning), if necessary.
3. Disconnect suction hose from the feed unit and connect to the park station
(e.g., order no. 241565).
4. Press the START/STOP button and empty pump and feed hose.
5. Disconnect feed hose and connect to the park station.
6. Press "Cleaning" button to start the cleaning procedure.
Note:
Depending on the powder type used, the cleaning procedure must be repeated
under circumstances!
7. Carefully blow out powder feeding parts (suction lance, surge damper, etc.) by hand.
8. Disconnect suction and feed hose from the park station and reconnect to the
relevant connection.
9. Restart the coating procedure.
