9. Connecting External Devices: Connecting a Remote Control Unit
When Maintenance >Camera Config >RM
Common Memory in the setup menu is set
to [On], you can use settings of the paint
adjustment data stored in the main data block
even if a remote control unit is connected.
In this case, the settings stored in the main
data block will be updated when you change
the settings on the remote control unit. Thus,
the settings of the paint data made with the
remote control unit will be retained even after
the remote control unit is removed. However,
if the switch position on the remote control
unit differs from the one on the camcorder,
the switch position on the camcorder takes
precedence.
Also, it is possible to keep the settings that
are in effect before you connect the remote
control unit. In this case, you must set the
control knobs to relative value mode on the
remote control unit.

Operating the Menu from the
RM-B170

Press the CHARACTER button on the
RM-B170, turning it on, then press the
MENU button.
The menu is displayed on the monitor
connected to the MONITOR connector of
the RM-B170.

Select and set menu items using the
adjustment knob and CANCEL/ENTER
button.

When finished, set the MENU button to
OFF to exit the menu.
