Placing a Participant on Hold

16
While you're connected privately to a participant, the alert box at the bottom
of the navigation pane contains a Reconnect button and a Hold button. You
can put the participant on hold temporarily so that you can join the conference,
connect to another participant from the same conference, or make a call. Then,
you can return to the participant you put on hold.
When using the hold feature:
You can have only one line on hold at a time. For instance, you can't put
the current participant on hold, place a call to another participant, and
then put the second participant on hold while you return to the first one.
You can access only the line that you put on hold. You can't retrieve a
participant put on hold by another operator.
To place a participant on hold and then retrieve the participant:
1
While connected to the participant, click the Hold button.
The ReadiVoice system puts the participant on hold, playing music and a
periodic "please hold" message. In your Operator window the
participant's blue status icon shows the participant is on hold. The Hold
button flashes periodically to remind you that you have a participant on
hold.
2
Take whatever other action you need to perform.
3
When you're ready to return to the participant on hold, click the Hold
button again.
The ReadiVoice system reconnects you to the participant you put on hold.
4
To return the participant to the conference, click the Reconnect button.
