ReadiVoice Windows Operator Guide
Answering Operator Requests
10
Visual and audible alerts notify you of pending operator requests from the
ReadiVoice systems (servers) to which you're connected. You must have a
sound card and speakers to receive the audible alerts. By default, you get
requests from every bridge; see
page 7.
If you're logged into a system as a group operator, you get requests only from
the group or groups with which you're associated.
Operator requests are either private or conference requests. A participant makes
a private request to speak privately with an operator. A participant makes a
conference request to have an operator join the conference.
ReadiVoice systems can be configured to route callers to an operator if they
enter the wrong access code, password, or conference security code three
times. If so, these callers also appear in the pending requests list.
ReadiVoice systems can also be configured to alert an operator about
conferences that go on for too long with the minimum number of participants
(typically, one). If so, these conferences also appear in the pending requests
list.
When an operator request comes in, an alert box appears at the bottom of the
navigation pane on the left
To answer an operator request:
1
Before answering a request, make sure that either:
— You have a voice path to a bridge on the system (server) from which
the request originates.
— You have no voice path and your operator phone is on hook so that the
bridge can call you.
2
