Information LED
Feature Description
The main power switch applies or removes primary power from the power supply to the
Power Button
server but maintains standby power.
The unit identification (UID) button turns on or off the blue light function of the Information
UID Button/LED
LED and a blue LED on the rear of the chassis.
BMC Button
This button can also be used to reset the BMC (hold for 10 sec.; see Chapter 3 for details).
Indicates the system power status as follows:
Steady on: power on
Blinking at 4Hz: checking integrity of BIOS/BMC
Power LED
Blinking at 4Hz and "i" is blue: BIOS firmware is updating
Two 4Hz blinks, a 2Hz pause and "i" is blue: BMC firmware is updating
Blinking at 1Hz and "i" is red: fault detected
HDD LED Indicates activity on the storage drives when flashing.
LAN1/LAN2 LEDs Indicates network activity on LAN1 when flashing.
Information LED Alerts operator to several states, as noted in the table below.

Description
An overheat condition has occurred.
Fan failure, check for an inoperative fan.
Power failure, check for a non-operational power supply.
Fault detected
Recovery mode
UID has been activated locally to locate the server in a rack environment.
UID has been activated using the BMC to locate the server in a rack environment.
BMC is resetting (press the UID button on the front panel for six seconds to initiate)
BMC is resetting factory defaults (press the UID button on the front panel for 12
seconds to initiate)
BMC/BIOS firmware is updating
