replacing the Shutter

z To avoid electric shock, accidents or injuries to yourself or other people, or damage to the electronic

circuits, be sure to turn off the power switch before starting work.

Turn off the power switch. (See "7-6-1 Turning the power Switch On" on page 31.)

remove the shift (6-speed MT) assembly. (See "8B-3-5 (1) removing and Installing the Shift
(6-Speed MT) Assembly" on page 139.)

Insert an open-end wrench (14 mm across flats) through the tool hole, and engage it with the
locking section (flat section) of the lever shaft to fix the lever shaft. With the wrench held in this
condition, rotate the shift knob in the counter-clockwise direction to remove it. If the shift knob
is too slippery to turn, wrap adhesive fabric tape or rubber bands around the shift knob.

pull out shutter A and shutter B, and replace them.

To install, perform the procedure in reverse.
Refer to the above figure and check the direction of the shutter carefully during reassembly.
