Introduction

Some properties may need to have specific options set on the HMS400 PMS Interface to enable
compatibility with certain front office systems. Due to the nature of some of these settings, they
may not be applicable to all users. Therefore, these features are by default deactivated and would
require specific configuration to be made available.
Note: These settings need to be manually configured, i.e. its configuration file must be accessed
and the parameters within changed.

Alternate PMSI Settings

These settings are all found in the PMSI.ini file (except where noted) located in the
C:\HM\PMSI\Data folder. Double-click to open this file with Notepad. All values shown are default
settings and the PMSI module must be restarted before any changes can take effect. Valid values
are normally 1 or 0, unless specified otherwise.
1. WAIT_BCC = 0
Changing it to 1 will activate BCC checking of all records received from Hotel PMS. Any record
with mismatching or missing BCC will trigger a NAK response from the PMSI module.
2. Send_GuestName_DuringCheckOut = 0
By default, the PMSI module will process all check out records received from the Hotel PMS
as is, meaning if a check out record is sent without a name [SE ST.....CH OU], then the same
record will be transmitted to the PBX. However, by activating this parameter (set to 1), the
PMSI module will actually get the guest name from its database and then send it across to the
PBX [SE CP....."<name>" CH OU].
Note: This setting will also mean that the <xpln> field from the Hotel PMS will be discarded in
the record sent to the PBX.
3. Send_NewGuest_DuringCheckIn = 0
This is similar to the above except that it affects check in records only. Using the above
example, if a check in record is received without a name [SE ST......CH IN], then that record
will be changed to [SE CP....."<New Guest>" CH IN] before being sent to the PBX.
Note: This setting will also mean that the <xpln> field from the Hotel PMS will be discarded in
the record sent to the PBX.
4. Use_Extn_Not_Room = 1 & USE_EXTN_PMS = 1
These two parameters are used hand in hand, meaning if one is deactivated then the other
must follow suit. The former refers to records received from the Hotel PMS whilst the latter
refers to records sent to the Hotel PMS. Typically, most Hotel PMS use extension numbers in
records such as check in, check out, room change, etc. However, if room number is preferred,
then both these parameters must be set to 0.
5. ROOM_STATUS_POSTING_DISABLE = 1
Due to a limitation in certain Hotel PMS software, the receipt of room status records will
somehow jam up their port. Therefore, this new parameter is introduced that when activated
will stop the PMSI module from posting room status records to the Hotel PMS. This option is
deactivated by default.
