The 2 Direct entries shown in the sample configuration are needed if Linear Hunting is
programmed for the channels. The second Direct entry (4000_NNNN in the example above) needs
to be manually configured as the Pilot number will vary from site to site. However, if Group Hunt
(using Flexible Feature Code) is employed, then only the second Direct entry is needed.
The list also includes entry points for TUI (Telephone User Interface) as well as AA (Auto
Attendant) functions. The numbers preceding the TUI and AA entry points are either Phantom
numbers or dummy ACD Queue numbers. Detailed explanation on these functions are covered in
later chapters but the rule of thumb is whenever an entry point has a specific Extension number as
part of its format and it also is identical to an entry point with wild cards (X), it must be placed above
the one with Xs, in this instance the No Answer entry point. Otherwise, the No Answer entry point
will always be taken first because of its matching CPI format thus precluding the system from
looking at the other entry points of the same format.
To manually construct an entry point, follow the steps below:
1. Enter the Entry Point Format as captured from the PBX and choose a call type associated with
it.
2. Click the ADD button to create the entry
3. Repeat the above steps for all other formats available
4. An easier way to add similar entry points is to select one closest to the new entry to be added.
For e.g., to add the last entry (NNNNN_XXXXXXXXXX), select the previous one
(NNNN_XXXXXXXXXX)
th
5. Then, add the 5
6. To use the Remove button, first highlight the entry to be deleted
7. Similarly, highlight the entry before selecting either to move it up (MoveUp) or down
(MoveDown)
8. To Edit, select an entry, make the change (to the format and/or the type), then click Update
9. Click Save upon completion and then Next to go to the following screen
10. Otherwise, a reminder message will pop-up, as shown below
