5.3 Transformer Troubleshooting

Symptom
The transformer
generates loud
noise.
Issue 02 (2022-07-18)
Possible Cause
The corresponding power
ports have no output.
The corresponding power
ports are short-circuited.
An alarm is generated.
Possible Cause
If the noise persists:
● The bolt joints of
mechanical parts are
loose.
● The iron core is
damaged or displaced.
● The base is not level and
some parts of the base
are suspended.
● The noise is transmitted
through the floor (upper
and lower floors of the
transformer room).
● The space of the
transformer room is
small, causing sound
reflection and
overlapping.
● The voltage of the
power grid system is
high.

Suggestion
Set parameters on the WebUI based on the
actual application scenario.
Check whether the connected load is short-
circuited. If yes, eliminate the short circuit.
Handle the alarm.
Suggestion
● Check the clamping bolts of the transformer
iron core, bolts at the coil pad, and bolts
connecting the transformer cable outlet bar
and the low-voltage busbar. If any exception
is found, tighten the bolts according to the
torque requirements in the transformer user
manual.
● Check whether the upper and lower yoke
areas are damaged during transportation or
installation. If yes, contact the transformer
technical support.
● Identify the position of the noise source and
check the source. If the bottom of the
transformer is not properly fixed, place
elastic materials (such as silicon rubber
pads) under the base and secure the
transformer to the base using bolts.
● If no personnel are affected, no action is
required. If personnel are affected, attach
sound absorbing materials to the wall and
isolate the noise source.
● Measure the voltage of the low-voltage side
in the no-load or light-load state, and
calculate the high voltage value based on
the operating step change ratio. If the
system voltage is high, adjust the operating
level after power-off.
