Protective equip-
ment:
1. Park the machine safely
'Parking the machine in secured condition'
on page 133.
2. Allow the engine to cool down.
3. Unscrew the cap from the compensation
tank.

4. Unscrew the plug.
5. Drain off and collect all coolant.
6. Turn the plug tightly back in.
7. Check the condition of the coolant.
8. Thoroughly flush the cooling system if the
coolant is contaminated by corrosion resi-
dues or other suspended matter.

9. Remove the thermostat.
10. Fill with clean water.
11. Start the engine and run to operating tem-
perature.
12. Allow the engine to cool down to approx.
50 °C (122 °F).
13. Drain off all water.
14. If using a cleaning agent repeat the
flushing process twice with clear water.
15. Reinstall the thermostat.
