Activating the Scanner Without the Cover

Activation Procedures

Laser Warning
Do not operate the unit while the laser is connected without proper eye protection. Safety glasses (see
Instructions on Page 10) must be worn by all personnel in the area of the unit! Only authorized personnel may remove
the cover. Before operating the unit without the cover, disconnect the laser (see
Cover (Laser Deactivated) on Page
When the scanner cover is removed, the safety electrical interlock switch disconnects the erasing CCFL assembly,
the laser, and all motors.
To activate the scanner without the cover, use the applicable procedure:
• If the laser is not needed. See

Before Service Operations

[1] Switch OFF the DIP switch on the laser board.
[2] Insert the safety interlock activation key into the safety interlock to the left of the roof assembly.
[3] Switch ON the scanner and perform the necessary operations.
