5.5 MontaVista
5.5.1
Introduction
This "how-to" explains the configuration and usage of the MontaVista CGE AT8001 LSP. The LSP
include a custom kernel that support the AT8001 hardware, contain tools to update the BIOS, the
IPMI firmware and access the IPMI controller. It does also include some useful scripts for hardware
configuration.
5.5.2
Installation
Before installing the LSP, make sure that target x86_pentium4 and cross x86_pentium4 disks from
MontaVista CGE 3.1 are installed. This is because the LSP do not include standard x86_pentium4
binary packages. See MontaVista CGE 3.1 user guide for installation process.
Installation has to be done in ROOT administrator only.
5.5.2.1
Extract the LSP archive to a new directory:
gzip –dc {filename} | tar –xvf -
type
in the directory where the LSP is extracted.
./setup.sh
When prompted, enter the directory where MontaVista CGE 3.1 is installed
(Default:
/opt/montavista
Wait until "INSTALLATION COMPLETED!" is displayed.

Extract the LSP archive to a new directory:
gzip –dc {filename} | tar –xvf -
Install the LSP:
mvl-rpm –ihv PATH_TO_LSP/cross-x86_pentium4-lsp-kotron_t5002-2.4.20_mvlcge31-041203.noarch.mvl
Install the Kontron Support Toolkit package:
mvl-rpm --target=x86_pentium4-linux –ihv PATH_TO_LSP/kst-0.1-041203.x86_pentium4.mvl

Configuration
Create a project using the LSP:
Open the Target Configuration Tool and click on the New Project button.
Enter your project name, project directory and your project summary.
