Setting Up Email Alerts
To check the supplies status and set up alerts using the Embedded Web Server, refer to the System Administrator
Guide at www.xerox.com/office/VLB71XXdocs.
1. To set up alerts to send to an email address, touch D D e e v v i i c c e e > > S S u u p p p p l l i i e e s s > > E E m m a a i i l l A A l l e e r r t t s s .
2. To enter an email address, touch A A d d d d E E m m a a i i l l , then touch E E n n t t e e r r E E m m a a i i l l A A d d d d r r e e s s s s .
3. Use the touch screen keyboard to enter an email address, or select an entry from the Address Book, then touch
O O K K .
4. Add more email addresses if necessary.
5. To customize the alerts for each supply item, or to enable or disable an alert, touch the toggle button.
6. To exit the menu, touch O O K K .
7. To return to the Device screen, touch the back arrow.
B I L L I N G A N D U S A G E C O U N T E R S
The Billing/Usage menu displays the total number of impressions that the printer generated or printed during its
lifetime. You cannot reset the counters. A page is counted as one side of a sheet of paper. For example, a sheet of
paper that is printed on two sides counts as two impressions.
To view the Billing and Usage Counters:
1. At the printer control panel, press the H H o o m m e e button.
2. Touch D D e e v v i i c c e e > > B B i i l l l l i i n n g g / / U U s s a a g g e e . The impression counts appear:
• B B l l a a c c k k I I m m p p r r e e s s s s i i o o n n s s : Total number of pages printed with no color specified.
• T T o o t t a a l l I I m m p p r r e e s s s s i i o o n n s s : Total number of color impressions and black impressions.
3. To view more details, touch U U s s a a g g e e C C o o u u n n t t e e r r s s , then select an option.
• I I m m p p r r e e s s s s i i o o n n C C o o u u n n t t e e r r s s : This option provides the number of impressions made by the printer. The number of
impressions cannot equal the number of sheets counted, depending on the printer setup. If your printer is
set up to count large sheets as large impressions or as multiple smaller impressions, the number of
impressions can differ.
• S S h h e e e e t t C C o o u u n n t t e e r r s s : This option provides the number of impressions made by the printer. Impressions for 2-
Sided sheets are identified as a separate line from 1-Sided sheets.
• I I m m a a g g e e s s S S e e n n t t C C o o u u n n t t e e r r s s : This option provides the number of images sent using the Fax, Email, or Scan
features.
• F F a a x x I I m m p p r r e e s s s s i i o o n n s s C C o o u u n n t t e e r r s s : This option provides the number of images sent using the Fax features. Each
fax feature is identified on a separate line.
• A A l l l l U U s s a a g g e e C C o o u u n n t t e e r r s s : This option provides all printer usage information.
4. After viewing the usage readings, to return to the Home screen, press the H H o o m m e e button.
