1.4.1.1 Before Starting the Work

1) If the machine is equipped with fax functions, print out the following and all received
images: system data list, one-touch/speed/group dial list, user data list, communications
control report, system dump list.
2) Turn off the power, and remove the jumper plug JP1 from the existing PCB.
When the jumper plug JP1 is removed, all data in control memory will be
lost. Be sure that all control data has been printed out before doing so; the
data items stored in control memory include the following:
• user data (data set by the user by pressing the Register/Set key)
• service mode deta (data indicating service mode settings)
• ontrol data (communications control record of most recent 20 communica-
tions, system dump record)

1.4.1.2 After Finishing the Work

1) Put back the jumper plug JP1 you removed before starting the work.
2) Turn on the power; then, when 'DATA ERROR' is indicated, press the Set key.
3) Enter the user data and the service mode data.
4) Make various adjustments related to electrical systems. (See 1.2.3 "Marking Electrical
Adjustments" in Chapter 7.)
