5.8. Mapping Table
The CAN-Gateway Configurator allows free routing configurations. Individual messages or message groups can be
mapped from and to each CAN port. The route through the device always starts at the receiving CAN controller
(message source) and ends at the transmitting CAN controller (message destination).
IMPORTANT
Only messages that are entered in the mapping table are forwarded. By default, no filter is set and
all messages are rejected.
IMPORTANT
To be able to transmit CAN FD messages, CAN port 3 and CAN port 4 must be configured as CAN FD
port (see
CAN Ports, p.

Risk of multiply transmitted messages.
Each message that is entered in the mapping table is transmitted. If a message is entered more than
once (e.g. overlapping value range or multiply entries of the same message identifier), the message
is transmitted for each entry in the list, i.e. the message is transmitted more than once.
NOTE
It is possible to configure the mapping table offline.
Entry limitations
The size of the mapping table is limited.
Maximal possible entries:
• maximal 512 rows in total
• limitations of Extended format:
– maximal 256 identifier entries
– maximal 8 mask/value entries per CAN
