Jaw Stops
Head Tilt: Check drift and load holding
Rotation Motors and Relief: Check drift and load holding
Structure
Structure for Cracks, Dents and Damage. Include Welds, Material, Pin Keepers, Bosses etc.
Stop Plate Assembly
Jaw and Jaw Stops for Damage, Excessive Wear or Broken Teeth
Loose Parts
Loose or Missing Fasteners
Rotation Bearing and Bolts. Perform 'Pre-load Test' by tilting the grapple forward and back.
Check movement in the bearing. Rotate the grapple in both directions. Check movement in
the bearing, listen for bearing noise. Measure and record bearing wear. Rotate Bearing 90°.
Replace Bolts.
Tool Cylinder Joints and Pivot Points. Perform 'Pre-load Test' as above. Check wear in joints,
linkages and pins. If excessive, perform detailed inspection and measurement.
Jaw and Jaw Cylinder Joints & Pivot Points. Fully open jaws. Close jaws until stopped by
jaw stops. Check wear in joints, linkages and pins. Check wear of each set of jaw stops. If
excessive, perform detailed inspection and measurement
NDT (Non-Destructive Testing): Check critical welds and high stress areas
Hydraulics
Hoses for Abrasion or Leaks
All Cylinders for Leaks, Damage, Scores, Dents or Runs
Drive Assembly for Leaks
Swivel for Leaks
Weldco-Beales Manufacturing
Repair or Replace All Non-acceptable Items Before Use
