JAW STOPS INSTALLATION

Jaw Stops Installation
The lowest jaw stops are crucial to extending the working life of the grapple. If the
lowest stops fail, the additional jaw stops protect the cylinders from damage. When
stops wear or fail, have them replaced immediately.
Install each set of jaws with the following procedure:
1. Lift the grapple, so both jaws are able to close completely.
2. Remove the jaw stops (tack welded only).
3. Fully extend both jaw cylinders (jaws in closed position).
4. Retract both cylinders 3/8". This is 12-5/8" of stroke. Check the stroke by measuring
the chrome exposed on the cylinder rod.
5. Tack weld the jaw stops to the jaw. Each stop surface must fully contact with the
stop surface of the other jaw.
