DAILY INSPECTION

Daily Inspections (Static)

Grease all pins and bushings at the start of each shift.
Perform daily visual inspections on/for:
• Structural integrity of the grapple, look for excessive wear, cracking, damage:
• Check all cylinders and cylinder anchor points.
• Check boom and stick systems.
• Check all accompanying components.
• Check contact faces and welds on the jaw stops, the stop plate assembly and
the stick.
• Inspect all welds and components for cracks or damage. Contact WBM for
recommended welding procedures before repairing any welds.
• Hydraulic components (hoses, hose ends, fittings, valves, motors, swivel, cylinders,
etc.) and connections for leakage or damage.
• Attachment cylinders and cylinder anchor points for structural integrity, weld cracks
or damage.
• Confirm bearing bolts are fitted to the following torque settings (and that a
removable thread sealant compound was used):
Bolt Size and Grade
20 mm Ø Gr 12.9
These settings are based on lubricated bolts using hardened flatwashers.
Failure to maintain these torque settings can result in bolt failure.
• Inspect all other bolts for tightness and installation (see appendix for torque specs).
• Keep the attachment free of dirt, debris, or foreign material.
Any cracking or component damage must be repaired. All worn components or missing parts
must be replaced prior to any and all operation of the attachment.
Never check for hydraulic leaks with your hand. Pressurized hydraulic leaks may cause
laceration or amputation. Use scrap material (ie. cardboard, paper etc.) to check hydraulic
hoses and fittings. Wear Personal Protective Equipment. Failure to repair damaged or worn
components, and wear the correct Personal Protective Equipment may result in property
damage, serious injury or death.
