Lubrication Procedure (Outside Gear Face)

For lubrication of the slewing bearing gear teeth, WBM recommends Swepco 604, or
equivalent only. Swepco 604, can be ordered through Weldco-Beales as part number
601-015-0000.
Every week, inspect the gear teeth and lubricate. The frequency of lubrication will vary
with the usage of the grapple and the working environment.
Swepco 604 is a tacky lubricant, which is pulled over the gears, and effectively re-
lubricates the gear with each revolution. It will handle hot and cold temperatures, will
not "sling off" during rotation, and also has exceptional resistance to washing with
water.
If used daily, lubricate bearing daily. If used intermittently, lubricate every 40 hours.
1. Lubricate slewing bearing gear teeth through the two 1/2"Ø holes using a caulking
gun to deliver Outside Gear Lubricant
2. Ensure coverage by rotating the grapple and applying to several locations on the
gear teeth.
When greasing and rotating the grapple, ensure all personnel and objects are at a safe working
distance from the machine. Failure to comply may result in property damage, serious injury or
death.
3. After lubricating, rotate grapple continuously in both directions for proper coverage
of lubricant on gear teeth.
4. Reapply, as required, to provide complete coverage.
