MAINTENANCE
LUBRICATION / JAW STOPS MAINTENANCE
The gear teeth come pre-lubricated with Swepco 604, Outside Gear Lubricant.
WBM recommends use of outside gear lube, Swepco 604, or equivalent only. Order Swepco 604
Outside Gear Lubricant through Weldco-Beales (p/n 601-015-000). Do not use regular grease
products, they do not meet performance requirements for this application. Failure to use correct
outside gear lubricant could result in damage to the grapple or the machine.
Handle Swepco 604 in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice. May cause
skin/eye irritation/inflammation and repeated exposure may cause injury. Always maintain and
review the MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets). Failure to do so may result in property damage,
serious injury or death.
Jaw Stops Maintenance
1. Every shift, inspect the weld around the stops. Re-weld as required.
2. If either or both stops are missing, then stops must be re-welded to the inner jaw.
3. The stop contact area may pound out under normal operating conditions and
will need to be built up with weld. See "Jaw Stops Installation" or contact WBM for
further information.
