3 Safety

3.1 Explanation of Warning Symbols

DANGER
This warning identifies an immediately impending hazard.
If the hazard is not avoided, death or serious injury (irreversible) will result.
WARNING
This warning identifies a possibly hazardous situation.
If the hazard is not avoided, death or serious injury (irreversible) may result.
CAUTION
This warning identifies a possibly hazardous situation.
If the hazard is not avoided, slight or minor injuries (reversible) may result.
NOTICE
This warning identifies a possibly detrimental situation.
If the hazard is not avoided, the product or something in the vicinity may be damaged.

3.2 General Safety Instructions

WARNING
Risk of falling due to the patient's lack of ability to stand
Injuries caused by falling
► Do not use the product if the patient does not have a sufficient ability to stand.
► Use a standing aid (e.g. standing support, forearm crutches) during the entire process.
► Having two prosthetists in attendance while taking the plaster cast is recommended.
WARNING
Risk of falling due to unsecured screw connections
Injuries caused by falling
► Check the tightness of all screw connections.
► Tighten all screw connections that are loose.
► Secure the locking screw after adjusting the height of the 743A11 Casting Apparatus to the tuberosity-floor
measurement of the patient.
► Be sure to tighten the clamping screw of the support after completing the adjustment.
CAUTION
Risk of health impairment due to improper hygiene
Skin irritation, formation of eczema or infections
► Clean and disinfect the product after every use.
