Cover the residual limb end with another plaster
longuette from medial to lateral and anterior to posteri
or.
To reinforce the proximal brim, apply a 3-layer plaster
longuette (10 cm) in the pubic bone area. It runs from
medial along the groin to the iliac crest.
Wrap three or four elastic plaster bandages around the
residual limb from the proximal end. Start dorsally at the
level of the iliac crest and work quickly. Be sure to keep
the tension consistent.
Cut 12 cm wide perlon stockinette to double the length
of the residual limb.
Pull the perlon stockinette over the residual limb and
secure it with another elastic plaster bandage.
Have the patient get into the device.
Briefly put the maximum weight on the residual limb
side and tighten the perlon stockinette.
Apply the lateral support at approximately 0.5 to
1.2 bar.
