Active Room Bus
An active room bus is the communication system that transfers power, data, and speech
between a dome light, which controls the bus, and NU-series room module devices that
are connected to the bus.
An active room bus begins at a dome light. The dome light, which connects to a hallway
bus, is the interface that allows room modules to communicate with a Ascom Telligence
System. Each dome light contains two RJ-45 connectors, which distributes 5.5VDC power
and data communications to the attached room modules. Each dome light can support up
to sixteen room modules on its room bus. Room modules connect to the room bus via a
Cat5/5e/6/7 U/UTP cable.
