SECTION 4 - NORMAL PROCEDURES
To Operate as an Automatic Direction Finder:
l. OFF/VOL Control
2. Frequency Selector Knobs
frequency display.
3. FRQ Button - PRESS to move the desired frequency from the standby to
the active position.

ADF Button (on ADF receiver)
5. ADF Button (on audio panel) - PRESS to activate ADF audio through
headset.
6. SPKR Buuon (on audio panel) - PRESS to activate ADF audio through
cockpit speaker.
7. OFFNOL Control - SET to desired volume level.
8. ADF Bearing
key. then pressing the BRGI or BRG2 softkey until "ADP' is displayed
in the appropriate Bearing I or Bearing 2 Information Window and the
bearing pointer is displayed on the HSI.
ADF Test (Pre-flight or In-flight):
I. ADF Bullon - SELECT ANT mode and note pointer moves towards the

position and then disappears.
2. ADF Button - SELECT ADF mode and note the pointer moves without
hesitation to the station bearing. Excessive pointer sluggishness, wavering
or reversals indicate a signal that is too weak or a system malfunction .
