Garmin Datalink
(GDL)-
SiriusXM Weather services is provided through Lhe optional GDL 69eA.
a remote-mounted data-link satellite receiver. SiriusXM Satellite Weather
services, available by subscription, have coded IDs unique
69eA. These coded ID's must be provided to activate service. These fDs arc
located on the label on the back or the Data Link Receiver and on the SiriusXM
Information Page on the MFD. SiriusXM uses the coded ID to send an activation
signal that allows the GI 000 system to display weather data provided through
the GDL 69eA.
Pulling the XM circuit breaker will disable the
Garmin Datalink (GDL), which include SiriusXM
weather.
SiriusXM Weather:
Received graphical weather information and associated text is displayed on
the Multi Function Display
Inset Map. SiriusXM satellite weather operates in the S-band frequency
range and provides continuous reception capabilities at any altitude
throughout North America.
The primary map for viewing SiriusXM Weather data is the Weather Data
Link Page in the Map Page Group. This is the only G 1000 map display
capable of showing information for all available SiriusXM weather products.
Selecting the products for display on the Weather Data Link Page is made by
pressing the softkey associated with that product. The label for the product
is shown in capital lellers in the Weather Products column in Table 7-2.
When a weather p roduce is selected for display, the corresponding softkey
label changes to gray to indicate the product is enabled. Unavailable wealher
products have subdued softkey labels ( soft keys are disabled from selection ) .
