17.1 Calibration

A calibration of the downstream analyser system or checking the dilution factor always needs to be
carried out under operating conditions.
An appropriate test gas can enter the sample dilution probe via the test gas valve.
Note
The procedure for calibration or checking the dilution ratio is as follows:
Supply test gas of a known concentration.
Check the dilution ratio on the downstream analyzer and, if necessary, correct the pressure at the
pre-pressure regulator of the dilution gas.
Test gas feeding
In order to assure that sufficient test gas is available in the filter of the probe, the amount of test gas
should be at least three times higher than the amount of gas passing through the critical orifice (see
injector data sheet).

Closing down

Before closing down, which means switching off the heating, the probe should be purged with inert gas
or air in order to avoid condensation of aggressive sample gas components.

Maintenance

Before starting any maintenance work, make sure that any work done on the device is in compliance
with all relevant regulations and standards.
Warning
www.mc-techgroup.com
The test gas pressure needs to be higher than 0.7 bar, because the
pressure control valve has an opening pressure of 0.7 bar.
When using a control panel, open the corresponding test gas ball valve,
and adjust the flow rate at the flow meter.
Disconnect power supply before opening the device for access.
Make sure that all external power supplies are disconnected.
This also applies to any external alarm or control circuits which
may be connected.
