7.1.13 User Login page
The HiPerGuard MV UPS has three levels of user roles available from the touch screen:
• Any User (default)
• Operator
• Service
• Factory
To log in, access the pin code entry screen from the main dashboard Login icon.
Select the User Role to have access to the virtual keyboard, and then enter the password (if no user is logged in,
the MV UPS will remain at a reduced accessibility level of "Any User").

Login page.
Logging on prevents the unauthorised changing of parameters and/or the uploading of firmware.
The end user must log on as Operator to enable the SSH (Secure Shell) port and to enable the Service log-in.
It is recommended that the end-user changes the Operator password from the factory default to improve secu-
rity.
Warning: Store the password in a safe place, as ABB cannot reset the password on-site. A lost password will
require replacing the GDM to the factory.

7.2 Web Interface

A web version of the HiPerGuard GDM is also accessible from the Local Area Network. The web interface can be ac-
cessed from any device inside the local network with a web browser by entering the HiPerGuard MV UPS's IP ad-
dress into the address bar. The IP Address can be obtained from the right-hand status bar on the GDM.
System status and events are accessible from the Web Interface. Start/Stop/Reset, control and setting of param-
eters are also available.

7.3 Ethernet Interface

Ethernet standards support different physical media and topologies. Modbus TCP is a variant of the Modbus com-
munication which use Modbus messages over TCP connection on an IP network.
The MV UPS provides information about input/output voltages/currents/frequencies, and the status of the me-
dium voltage circuit breakers (Sin, Sout, Sabp) through the Modbus TCP communication port, located on the APS
cabinet.
For a detailed description of Modbus registers, addresses and ranges, refer to the HiPerGuard MV UPS Modbus
TCP register map (2UCD400000E012).
