Product Description

Overview

The ABB HiPerGuard MV UPS is a high-performance high-efficiency UPS system that ensures protection from
power quality events, enabling the continuous conditioned power supply to sensitive and critical loads.
Based on the ZISC (Impedance Isolated Static Converter) architecture, the HiPerGuard MV UPS uses a special cou-
pling reactor combined with new generation PCS120 power modules to interface from the utility to the load. The
reactor acts as a barrier, preventing grid disturbances to reach the load and improves the power factor seen from
the grid side.
It is used to protect sensitive loads from the full spectrum of utility voltage events and combined with a wide
range of modern energy storage solutions ABB's ZISC provides autonomies from seconds to many minutes.
The equipment is connected to the medium-voltage network through the MV switchgear. The input breaker con-
nects the power supply to the MV UPS, which also has an active role in the normal operation. The output breaker
connects the MV UPS to the load, and a bypass breaker is connected between the whole MV UPS system, as shown
in the single line diagram.
