Cleaning Check Valves
Cleaning Check Valves with 20 % Nitric Acid
If the above cleaning procedure does not restore normal performance, you
can try using 20 % nitric acid to dissolve the deposits.
1 Remove the check valve from the pump head.

WARNING
A 20 % nitric acid solution is a strong acid. Strong acids are extremely corrosive and
pose severe risks.

2 Soak check valve in 20 % nitric acid for ten minutes.
3 Carefully remove the check valve from the acid bath and rinse thoroughly
4 Reinstall the check valve on the pump head.
